HI, I’m Rochene Hawley

and I struggled with self-doubt,

just like you

Getting qualified makes you feel like you know what you’re doing. Until you start training people and you realise, maybe you don’t? It made me start wondering, who is Rochene Hawley? Why would anyone want to train with me?

The imposter syndrome and self-doubt hits when you see all the personal trainers who know everything, and have a whole bunch of loyal clients who adore them. They’ve been working in fitness since you were playing with bugs in the dirt. And you wonder…can I really do this?

Yep, I wasn’t always this confident, barbell forcing babe.

Success starts in your head

Do you know what’s holding you back? You!

We’re taught as little girls to be sweet and kind, to do things to make people happy, to give to others first. And it’s all BS. Of course, being kind to people is important. But looking after everyone else before yourself is setting yourself up to bomb, in business and in life.

Learning to value myself changed everything. I stopped trying to make everyone else happy and hiding how terrible I felt. I started showing up more genuinely which created a deeper connection with my clients.

When I feel good, it’s easy to make others feel great. When I’m grinding along trying to please everyone but feeling rotten, no one benefits from it.

You know the value of a coach,
that’s why you need one too

It’s hard to know what you need to change. You see the symptoms – fluffing around trying to make decisions, getting frustrated with your clients, crying at the end of the day. But you can’t always see why it’s happening.

When I started working with a coach, they saw where I was struggling and showed me the changes I needed to make. Having an outside perspective meant they weren’t caught up in my whirling thoughts and feelings. They could see the obstacles I couldn’t find a way around and showed me the how to navigate them.

I learnt to:

  • Trust my instincts (your gut gives you some pretty decent signals, pay attention!)

  • How to step into my power

  • Let go of limiting beliefs (does the voice in your head keep knocking you?)

  • Take the best action for me and my clients

  • Make an impact with my coaching

  • Raise my confidence

As I grasped each new concept, my values became clearer.
I didn’t want to just help people to lose weight or build muscle.

I wanted to teach them how to enjoy moving their bodies. To forge a community where we celebrated each other’s wins and helped each other through the trials. To empower women to live life in the way they wanted, not how other people told them to.

That’s why I created Barbell Babes Brigade and Women In Strength.

What you get when you work with me:

Support

Knowing our peers will catch the weight when we fumble and cheer us on when we exceed our personal best.

Authenticity

Be who you are. Show up honestly and genuinely. I’ll be 100% real with you and I expect the same in return.

Holistic Approach

Combining personal growth with career tools is the only way to succeed. I see you as a beautiful, whole, unique being.

You don’t need to make the SAME mistakes that I did

Why fluff along, trying to guess how to do it when you could leap straight to the gains?

You’ll learn how to:

  • Leverage your time

  • Know the basics of being an exceptional coach

  • Solve your problems by changing your language

  • Know and serve your client’s needs

Sure, someone else might be able to teach you a few of those. But most other coaches don’t tackle your inner problems like I do.

I’ll help you to:

  • Overcome your weaknesses and fears (it’s more than just positive affirmations.)

  • Develop rituals and routines to enhance your strengths.

  • Understand your core values.

You’ll find your purpose, and together we’ll nourish it.

Where do I even start...

Prior to starting mentoring with Ro I was someone who read all of the personal development books I could get my hands on, I listened to countless podcasts and went to events about being brave and vulnerable & holding your own, yet I couldn't seem to put anything into practice within my own life. I had been to psychologists, I had had mentors but I still felt like I was chasing my tail - I felt like I was pushing shit uphill.

It wasn’t until I started working with Ro that things started to change.

I struggled to pinpoint and know what was going on internally. However Ro, with her outsider perspective looking in, asked the right questions and in doing so has been able to help me navigate the rollercoaster that is life. Helping me to see the things that I didn’t even realise were lying there dormant under the surface.

Ro doesn’t shy away from the tough questions, in fact she is the only person I know who has the courage to go where nobody else does. She takes the time to listen and make you feel heard, you can say the same thing 100 times and she doesnt stop until you are clear and understand what you are feeling and experiencing and how that's been affecting you or causing certain outcomes.

Ro has a way of seeing through the shit. All those things you pull over everyone else's eyes, the shit you pull over your own eyes, she can see straight through it.

The changes I have felt within myself since starting mentoring with Ro is like nothing I have experienced before. I have been the most level headed and balanced human being I have ever been since working with Ro. I am making headway in areas where I was once chasing my tail and she has helped me to step into my own, building my confidence and tackling different areas that I once shied away from.

Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for me Xx

If you are on the fence about spending the $$ ask yourself why are you scared of investing in yourself. Backing yourself is the best thing you can do for your business. Ro isn't afraid to ask the hard questions that we tend to avoid and she makes you stay in the shit and work through it. She offers a safe space to work through things and will wait until you are ready for the loving bitch slap.

We live in a society that loves the 'band aid' approach to fix things. This program actually taught us how to be self sufficient in our own lives and make our own choices. As a female in a male dominated industry you can get so confused so it was amazing to connect with like minded and different minded females and learn from each other.

Empowering af, she teaches you how to be in charge of your own life, which really I had the power to do all along, I just needed to get pushed into it.

The highlight of my week, the best thing I did in iso was to reach out to Ro and join this program :)

Why I created Barbell Babes Brigade

Working as a sole trader in Goodlife Health Clubs, I saw women trying to force their bodies to be a certain way. Comparing themselves to Instagram models, they were unhappy during their workouts, and couldn’t see that the social media pictures didn’t tell the whole story. Every gain was thwarted by the belief that they still weren’t good enough.

I hated seeing their defeat. Their lack of confidence. Their cycle of ups and downs as they couldn’t sustain their gains long-term.

I knew there was a better way.  A way to build strong, empowered women who celebrated themselves as individuals.

So, I created Barbell Babes Brigade, a female performance facility in Melbourne. My goal is to make a place where women focus on how they feel, not how they look. Our babes love lifting, getting strong in their bodies and in their minds.
